Prize Details
PRIZES: (1) student will be selected in a random drawing from among all the eligible entries received. Winner will receive a science kit (ARV $225) and a $25 gift card. Winner will also receive a mentoring session about the opportunities in plant careers with a horticulture professional in their area, to be identified by Seed Your Future. The adult who submitted the winning entry for the student will receive a $100 gift card. Winner’s class or group will receive a mini terrarium kit (ARV $250) and a virtual field trip to Longwood Gardens. Total combined prize value for the sweepstakes is $600.
Grand Prize Contest Winner will receive a science kit (ARV $250), a
one-year family pass for the National Parks (ARV $80), a one-year family pass for their state parks, if applicable (ARV $195), and a $100 gift card.
The adult who submitted the winning Contest entry on behalf of the student will receive a $250 gift card.
Grand Prize Contest Winner’s class or group will receive a classroom garden kit (ARV $500), a field trip to a local public garden, zoo, plant farm, or similar destination (ARV, up to $1,000),
and a virtual field trip to Longwood
Gardens.
Total combined prize value for the Grand Prize is $2,375.
(1) Student will be selected by a panel of Seed Your Future judges from among all the eligible entries received as the Runner-Up Contest Winner. Runner-Up Contest Winner will receive a science kit (ARV $225) and a $50 gift card. Winner will also receive a mentoring
session about the opportunities in plant careers with a horticultural
professional in their area to be identified by Seed Your Future. The
mentor will establish communication with the adult who submitted the
winning entry on behalf of the student to organize the mentoring session. The adult who submitted the winning Contest entry on behalf of the student will receive a $150 gift card.

Open only to (i) students currently enrolled in grades 6–8 at a public school, an accredited private school, or a home school in the 50 United States (or the District of Columbia) that is in compliance with the laws and regulations of its state/district or are participants in an out-of-school time program in the 50 United States
(or the District of Columbia) and who are residents of the 50 United
States (or the District of Columbia). The students’ entries may only be submitted by a student’s teacher, youth program leader (defined as a counselor, teacher, or other leader in an out-of-school time such as the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, camp, FFA. 4-H, or Boys and Girls program, Clubs), or his/her parents or legal guardians. The individuals submitting the entries must be over 18 (19 in AL or NE) at the time of submission and residents of the 50 United States (or
the District of Columbia).

Students in grades 6–8 will create a drawing and a description of a plant hybrid.
