Members,

We are very close to putting up a new version of ST. This change has been in the works for years and I can assure you that both Mr. Softie and myself hair has turned a little more gray than it was before

The first of the changes you will be is in the layout. After this will be adding some functional changes that will help you.

Most of the changes you will not see. This is our internal program coding that has been changed and updated. Within the internet over the years, there have been many changes in nearly everything that makes the site to run smoothly. Well we got a little behind and these upgrades will make us up-to-date. If you use a smart phone, you will see a noticeable improvement.

We will also be changing our login and eliminating our current system. We will be going with a email address login and your current password but once logged in, your user name will show. This will actually be a stronger security feature as much for us and simplicity for you.

We are also working with some of the advertisers on adding a video section and more. Times have changed in nearly 13 years and it will change again. You will see more social media sweeps and videos. This is not our choice but like others have to play the game to survive.

Last, we have not sent out any newsletters in a long time. I won't get into all the details why but to say we will be starting to email again. The first series of emails is what is called Administrative email. This is see if your email address is still good and to see if you want to continue your membership with ST. Under the rules of the Internet, we can send out one Admin email once a year. This helps all websites by reducing spam email in all the databases.

Finally, we will be adding more contents than we have added in the past. This will be about entering sweepstakes to a host of stories and issues. I receive a ton of emails from many in a year and questions in the Forum. I am starting to write now and following this Announcement is a 3 part series about The Winning Attitude. This tells you some about my history of sweepstakes and entering contest. Then I get into the modern years about online sweeping. Along the way is some of my ideas why I won and many fellow ST members have also. I somewhat open up and talk about myself that only a very select few know about me. I wanted to put my sweeping in perspective over a long period of time and to relate about the subject of "Luck" which is part of everyone vocabulary but fewer would understand. I hope you enjoy this and what it means. I let you rate this and feel free to ask me questions.

Thanks again and I will be back in touch with you soon.

Review and Additional Information

Members, a couple of comments and takeaways from your comments.

We use MIL time or Military time 0 to 24 hours on our clock for a reason. Because we have members in the USA and Canada in 6 or 7 time zone, MIL time to simplify several complex computer programing problems. There are a number of states that have 2 times zones. Then members will forget to change time zones if they move from one to another. Then there are issues when you throw in sweepstakes time zones and the servers they are located in. In whole, this is nearly impossible to get right for members, sponsors, servers, and match them up to your servers and our servers.

The simple solution? Mil Time. for those of you who don't normal use this form, 0 to 12 hours is AM. 13 to 24 is PM.

We are looking at a small change in the 24 hour sweep. The biggest problem with these sweep is with the sponsor, their programmers or ad agencies. There are people who in these companies who don't know there is a difference. The rules will say "daily" by our standards but the programmers will use "24 hours" because this is the way they think. Then there are times when a sweepstakes servers will go down for maintenance. This will make it appear that a sweep is 24 hour when it is not. Drives me nuts. We are looking at another solution for the whole 24 hour question.

Last, we are going to do something in the future about expired sweepstakes and the rules pages. This is a toss up when or if the sponsor will pull the pages down off of their servers. Some keep them up, some for a few months, some take them down. We are looking at a couple of option for this.

Thanks again,
Mr. Sweepy
