Prize Details

57-Game Hitting Streak Prize: The first eligible participant, if any, to achieve at least a (57) game hitting streak, as determined by MLBAM in its sole discretion, will win US$5,600,000.

NOTE: Grand Prize will only be awarded if an eligible participant achieves a hit streak greater than or equal to (57), as determined by MLBAM, in accordance with these Official Rules.

The Grand Prize will be awarded as the winner's choice of either a (40) year annuity or as (1) lump sum payment representing the estimated present value of that annuity as of March 19, 2013. The annuity will be one-hundred forty thousand U.S. dollars (US$140,000) per year (the "Annual Payments") for (40) years without interest (equaling five million six hundred thousand U.S. dollars (US$5,600,000)) and the lump sum payment will be the estimated present value of (US$5,600,000) as of March 19, 2013 of approximately (US$ 3,236,117).

Top Streak Prize
If no participant achieves a 57-game hitting streak or greater during the Contest Period, as determined by MLBAM, the eligible participant with the longest hitting streak during the Contest Period greater than or equal to (20) will win (US $10,000) (the "Top Streak Prize"). For the avoidance of doubt, the Top Streak Prize will be awarded to the eligible participant that earned the longest hitting streak during the Contest Period, not the longest active hitting streak at the time the Contest Period ends.

45-Game Hitting Streak (One more than current National League record)

Any eligible participant who achieves at least a 45-game hitting streak, as determined by MLBAM in its sole discretion, will win (1) US$100 gift certificate to the MLB.com Shop ("45-Game Hitting Streak Prize").

35-Game Hitting Streak (one more than current MLB Rookie Record) Any eligible participant who achieves at least a 35-game hitting streak, as determined by MLBAM in its sole discretion, will win one (1) US$50 gift certificate to the MLB.com Shop ("35-Game Hitting Streak Prize").

30-Game Hitting Streak Any eligible participant who achieves at least a 30-game hitting streak, as determined by MLBAM in its sole discretion, will win one (1) free subscription to MLB.TV for a one-month period, beginning on the first calendar day of the month following the achievement of the 30-game streak ("30-Game Hitting Streak Prize"). Example: if an eligible participant reaches 30 games on July 23, the MLB.TV subscription would run from Aug. 1-31. If an eligible participant reaches 30 games in the month of September, that participant will win one (1) free subscription to MLB.com's 2013 Postseason MLB.TV package. Approximate Retail Value ("ARV"): US$19.95 each 30-Game Hitting Streak Prize. MLB.TV subscriptions are subject to blackout and other restrictions - see www.mlb.tv for complete details.

The Grand Prize, Top Streak Prize, 45-Game Hitting Streak Prize and 35-Game Hitting Streak Prize each, a "Game Hitting Streak Prize." Limit (1) Game Hitting Streak Prize per person (so if you win the 45-Game Hitting Streak Prize, you will not also receive the 35-Game Hitting Streak Prize); however, an eligible participant can win the Grand Prize or the Top Streak Prize and another Game Hitting Streak Prize.

Review and Additional Information

If you are not already a member of MLB.com, you must become one before you can register to participate in the Contest (membership is free), regardless of method of entry. Registrations must be received during the Registration Period to be eligible.

The object of MLB.com Beat the Streak (the "Contest") is to establish a virtual "hitting streak" and keep it going for as long as possible. You'll do this by selecting (1) or (2) Major League Baseball ("MLB") player(s) on any game day, from a list displayed by MLB.com of MLB players who are on a MLB Club's active roster on that game day. If the player you select gets at least one (1) hit in the game for which you selected him, your streak continues. If the player you select does not get a hit, you can still participate, but your streak automatically ends and will be set to zero. You can make your daily player selections for up to (10) calendar days in the future. You can select any player as many times as you want over the course of the Contest Period (as defined below). New for 2013: If you choose to not make a selection on any game day, your streak will not end.

HOW TO PLAY

Selecting Your Players

Each day on which a regular season MLB game is played during the Contest Period (each, a "Game Day"), you may select one (1) or two (2) players from a list displayed by MLB.com of MLB players who are on each MLB Club's active roster on that Game Day (the "Active Players List"). You may select any MLB player from the Active Players List, including any player you have previously chosen, until five (5) minutes prior to the scheduled start of the MLB game (the "Lock Time") in which such MLB player is on an active roster for that Game Day. You can make your daily player selection up to ten (10) calendar days prior to any Game Day and may change your selection at any time prior to the Lock Time for any applicable MLB player on that Game Day. The Active Players List may change as a result of injury or other roster changes, so be alert!

Establishing and Maintaining a Streak

Your streak is measured by the number of consecutive MLB game(s) the player(s) you select are credited with a hit during the Contest Period.

Unless the Mulligan feature applies (as set forth in the Mulligan Feature above), your streak will automatically end and you must start to build your streak again from zero if you select a player for any MLB game who does not get a hit and has at least (i) one (1) official at bat, or (ii) one (1) sacrifice fly during the MLB game for which you selected him.

Your streak will NOT end under any of the following scenarios (each such scenario, a "Pass"):

A. If a player you select does not play during the MLB game for which you selected him for any reason other than his MLB Club not being scheduled to play;

B. If all of your selected players' plate appearances (one or more) result in a base on balls, hit batsman, defensive interference or obstruction or a sacrifice bunt;

C. Except as set forth in the Suspended Games Section below, in the event any MLB game for which you select a player is cancelled, postponed or suspended (See below for more information about Suspended Games);

D. If you fail to select a player for any Game Day; or

E. If the Mulligan feature applies, described above.

Participants will be allowed to make (2) selections during any Game Day by making a "Double Down Pick." Selecting a second player means that a participant can increase their streak by two (2) in one (1) Game Day. If either of the selected players fails to earn a hit during the MLB game after he takes an at bat or has a sacrifice fly, then that user's streak automatically ends and returns to zero (unless the Mulligan feature applies, described above).

Participants will have the opportunity to make a Double Down Pick on any Game Day with the following exceptions:

1. If the participant has already made a Double Down Pick for that Game Day;

2. Once a participant has made a Double Down Pick, and (1) of the players has past his applicable Lock Time, the Double Down pick cannot be changed, even if the second player has not passed his Lock Time; and/or

3. If the participant has made (1) pick on a Game Day, and that (1) pick has passed his applicable lock time for that Game Day, a Double Down pick cannot be added for that Game Day.
