Contest Entrant Prizes - (1) GRAND PRIZE: A trip for winner and (1) guest to Nashville, TN for the check presentation at the Grand Old Opry and a $50,000 educational grant (grant awarded in the form of a check). Trip package includes round-trip air transportation for (2) from a major airport near winner’s home (determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion) to Nashville, TN; (2) nights accommodations at the Opryland Hotel or a comparable hotel determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion (single room, double occupancy); ground transportation between the airport and hotel; and admission for the entire party at a check presentation ceremony (all details of ceremony determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion). In order for the winner to attend the check presentation ceremony, winner must travel on November 9, 2012 and return on November 11, 2012; check presentation ceremony currently scheduled to take place on November 10, 2012. Exact check presentation date subject to change by Sponsor in its sole discretion. If winner is unable to travel on November 9, 2012 and return on November 11, 2012, winner may forfeit the event related portion of the prize and select alternate dates to travel and claim the remaining portions of the prize (travel related portions will be awarded as a $5,000 check, if applicable). Any alternate travel must be arranged prior to the end of 2012.

Essay Contest: Follow the directions to submit (1) essay describing your favorite teacher (currently working at a school, or retired) and how he/she has set you up for success.
The Submission must be in text format;
The Submission must not exceed 250 words in length;
The Submission must be in English;
The Submission must be an original work of the entrant; and
The Submission cannot have been submitted previously in a promotion of any kind or exhibited or displayed publicly through any means.
Limit: You may upload (1) Submission during the Promotion Period. Entrant must have permission from all individuals mentioned in the Submission (if any) to use their name and likeness in the Submission and to grant the rights set forth herein. If requested, entrant must be able to provide such permissions in a form acceptable to Sponsor.
Essay Contest: After the conclusion of the Promotion Period, a panel of qualified judges determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion will select the potential Essay Contest Prize winners from among all eligible Submissions received, based on an application of the following criteria (“Judging Criteria”):
Creativity/Originality (25%);
Quality of Submission (25%); and
Fit to Contest Theme (50%)
The entrant with the highest scoring Submission will be the potential Grand Prize winner, the entrant with the next highest scoring Submission will be the potential First Prize winner, and the entrants with the next (2) highest scoring Submissions will be the potential Second Prize winners. The teachers identified in the potential winners' Submissions will be the potential Teacher Grand Prize, Teacher First Prize and Teacher Second Prize winners respectively.
Favorite School Contest: During the Favorite School Voting Phase, the nominated schools will be posted for public voting at http://kc.promo.eprize.com/myteachermyhero. Persons who meet the eligibility criteria as set forth in Section (1) will be invited to vote for the school they choose. Limit: Each person may vote (1) time per day during the Favorite School Voting Phase. Multiple votes received from any person or email address in excess of the stated number will be void.
