(1) Prize: Winner will receive a $15,000 solar array installation. The ARV of the Prize is $15,000, which includes the cost of the solar array equipment and the installation of the solar array equipment, and may include applicable local or state rebates, if any.
A Prize Winner must have a home suitable for the solar array installation. Home eligibility requires the following: (1) the Prize Winner own the single-family home designated for the solar array installation; (2) the home designated for solar array installation is a permanent structure; (3) the home designated for solar array installation have a south facing roof, with a roof facing between 90 and 270 degrees; (4) the roof of the home designated for solar array installation qualifies as un-shaded (requires 90% sunshine throughout the year according to a 12-month shading analysis); (5) the angle of the roof of the designated home is less than 30%; and (6) the roof age and condition is sufficient to support the solar array equipment. If the Prize Winner did not qualify under the requirements above, the Prize Winner will receive the equivalent of $5,000 of solar electricity from Green Mountain, which is enough to cover 3 years based on average monthly usage of 1,000 kWh at a rate of $0.1142 per kWh. (the Alternative Prize). In areas within the State of Texas that are open to retail electric competition and served by Green Mountain, the Alternative Prize Winner will be required to enroll for electric service with Green Mountain, and Green Mountain will apply a bill credit each month to cover the Green Mountain electric charges for the previous month, up to and until a total of $5,000 in credits have been issued or such time as the Alternate Prize Winner ceases for any reason to be a Green Mountain retail electric customer.
