Slingbox- Acuvue "did you see that?"

I won a "Slingbox Pro" from Acuvue's "Did you see that?" promotion. My prize came today and it was actually a "Slingbox Solo", a more basic model which has an MRV of $50 lower than what I was supposed to receive.  Not to be greedy and unthankful, but do I have a gripe here?

well since I cannot see what the real rules are as the contest is expired sometimes they do reserve the right to send what they want.

Actually I won the same contest and I received the same Solo instead of Pro. The ePrize letter included with the package says that a Slinbox Pro is enclosed and when I went back to the original email notifying me I won I found a working link

    http://image.eprizemail.com/lib/feff1072746d04/d/1/Mccann%20NameGame%20Rules-2.pdf

for the rule and it clearly states that "ONE HUNDRED FORTY-FIVE (145) SECOND PRIZES: Slingbox Pro. ARV: $179.99. The ARV is subject to price fluctuations in the consumer marketplace based on, among other things, any gap in time between the date the ARV is estimated for purposes of these Official Rules and the date the prize is awarded or redeemed."

They also have the right to substitute a similar prize of equal or lesser value if the original prize is unavailable.  I emailed ePrize with questions about receiving the Solo vs. Pro. They will probably simply tell me that the Pro version is unavailable and that I get the solo version instead.

    Thanks

ARV: $300. ONE HUNDRED FORTY-FIVE (145) SECOND PRIZES: Slingbox Pro. ARV:

$179.99. The ARV is subject to price fluctuations in the consumer marketplace based on,

among other things, any gap in time between the date the ARV is estimated for purposes of

these Official Rules and the date the prize is awarded or redeemed. For all prizes: Terms

and conditions of vouchers and gift cards apply. Prizes are non-transferable and no

substitution will be made except as provided herein at the Sponsor’s sole discretion.

Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize for one of equal or greater value if the

designated prize should become unavailable for any reason. Winners are responsible for all

taxes and fees associated with prize receipt and/or use. Odds of winning a prize depend on

the number of eligible entries received during the Promotion Period. TOTAL ARV FOR ALL

PRIZES: $72,098.55. Limit: One (1) prize per person.

It clearly says in the rules they can substitute a prize but it has to be of equal or greater value. I haven,t received mine yet but I will e-mail them if it isn't a slingbox pro.

Re: Slingbox- Acuvue "did you see that?"

Last year I won one of the second (or maybe third?) prizes from one of the Best Buy sweeps.  It was supposed to be a Canon SD-1000 digital camera.  I guess they ran out of them because what arrived was a Canon SD-850.  I never actually looked back to see what was supposed to be coming, so I assumed that was I received was the right prize.  About a week later, I got a letter from the sweeps administrator company acknowledging the error that also contained a $100 Best Buy gift card to make up the difference.

The year before that, I won one of the butterfinger prize bags.  All that arrived was a bag with a butterfinger t-shirt in it.  I assumed that was all that was coming, but about a week or two later a letter came saying that they inadvertently forgot to add in the butterfinger coupons, and it had 5 coupons for free butterfingers.

I'd probably send an email to let them know about the issue - hopefully they'll get it fixed for you.

    Good Luck!

2008 larger wins - Coca Cola mp3 player, $300 Prepaid Visa, $50 Prepaid Visa, $50 Amex gift card, 2 x $25 amazon.com gift codes, 2 tickets to six flags, and a lot of bags of chips from Subway

I emailed ePrize a few days ago and here was the response received today.

    Thank you for your email.

We apologize for any inconvenience. Please know that we are currently
looking into this matter, and we will contact you as soon as we have

Thank you for your patience and understanding,

Seems like this might have been an honest error. Lets give them the chance to see what happened. If you haven't already please send ePrize a email (if your situation was the same) and let them know. My standing is that the cover letter  included with the prize says that there is a Slingbox Pro enclosed. Somebody packing the prizes could have made a simple mistake. If anyone needs the link for the rules see a previous post in this thread.
