    Update on Prius win

Thanks for all the congratulations. The marketing company called and said since the Prius was so hard to get I would be getting a 2009 Prius instead of a 2008.  So I won't get it til Oct. Unfortunately I had my biopsy on Tues and my husband told his boss he had to take the day off to drive me there for a biopsy. My husband was out of the office on sales calls on Wednesday and when he returned to the office on Thurs, today, he was fired. Yesterday afternoon I was told the biopsy results and that I have to have an operation to remove the precancerous cells ASAP. Now I have less than two weeks to have the operation before the insurance ends. Husband was supposedly fired for not making quotas but I believe in my heart of hearts it was because he told them why he needed the day off. SO it looks like I will have to sell the car the minute I get it. I appreciate all the kind thoughts and wishes from Mr. Sweepy members.

With all that bad news, I'm happy for you that you have the good fortune to win the Prius and that it will be an asset to you and empower your husband to find a better means of support.

I am so sorry to hear about your bad news... and I'm sure there is a better opportunity out there for your hubby. When one door closes... another one opens. Best wishes and I hope you have a speedy recovery.

I just sent some prayers upstairs for you and your husband.  Ya know, I always seem to get a win just when I need the money.  It never fails.  I could complain that I never get to truly enjoy my wins, but I do appreciate the "blanket" that's always there.  Seems like I am being taken care of by the big Guy, and obviously you are, too.  I am happy that your biopsy showed pre-cancerous cells.  That must be a relief, of sorts.  You are probably still a wreck and it's good your husband can be home with you.  It just really stinks the way company's treat their employees sometimes.  Heartless.  God Bless.  Sue

    Re: Update on Prius win

First of all congrats on the win, There are always two ways of looking at every situation. For example I won $40,000playing keno online once but right after myhusbands cancer spread and he was out of work for nearly a year taking treatments.  Instead of feeling cheated I chose to feel blessed that I now had the money to pay the bills. But then again I always consider the little black cloud that hovers over my head to be my personal shade (lol). But really I pray your operation will turn out OK and I am sure that your husband will find a job that wil be better than what it sounds like the one he is leaving was and now you have a little breathing room in the meantime. Hold out for top dollar on the car I hear that they are selling like hot cakes now because of the gas prices so you should get it. We have dealt with cancer for 20 years now with my husband and he has taken about every type of treatment they have so if you need anyone to talk to drop me a note my email is donnasmith231@gmail.com I may not can always help but I am a great listener. And if I know anything it is that along with a lot of diagnoses comes some anger and it is sometimes nice just to have some one to spout off to that you don't have to worry about hurting their feelings, and I can do that. I hope that everything is OK and you don't need it but if you do I am here, I don't know what I would have done this year without my cancer forums and my sweepstakes. The sweepstakes kept me sane and also kept me from smoking as I quit in December right before my husband came down ill. They have been a blessing. Hang in there, things will look up Big Smile

I was really sorry to hear all of your bad news....what a horrible day you had.  I hope you have better news down the road..  If you HAVE to sell the Prius, you won't have any problems at all, I understand there is a 4-6 month delay from the time one orders one at the dealer, till it finally comes in.  It really is a marvelous vehicle.  Sure do wish you and your husband the very best and remember all of us are here for you to cheer your wins and comfort you with your problems.   Evie-WI

    Congrats on the Prius!

Maybe things will have turned around by October; I hope so. My sister had alot of medical appts and funny how her husband was suddenly not doing his job and was fired, with insurance ending same day. They had been harrassing him to force her to join insurance plan @ her job. She couldn't do that till open enrollment. They knew she had to have more medical appts etc prior to the time she could get insurance thru her job.

    Good luck!

I am so sorry for all the hardship you are going through.  You and your husband will be in my thoughts and prayers.  I also pray that God will give you peace as you go for your surgery.

     Congratulations on your win!

They say that you can't understand till you've walked a mile in someone else shoes. I'VE WALKED YOUR SAME PATH. Husband had to have 2nd cancer treatmentCrying cancer was not gone. Son was sent to Iraq.Crying. Husband was fired from job he had for over 25+ years.Crying. We lost all medical, dental, the only paycheck coming in this house. I am not able to work, nor get disibility. We had a small piece of property we sold.Big SmileThe sale of the property paid our small house off in fullBig Smile. Husband found another job that he loves to go to each day without the stress and he is getting a few small promotions.Big Smile. Son came back home from Iraq safe and sound.Big Smile. I believe that the power of a prayer is a mighty big thing and that you look forward instead of backward even when it hurts.  I will say a prayer for you.

Sweetjuju1: Wow is your faith being tested right now.  I really don't know what to say except that after reading your post I spent some time with the " Big
Guy", and put in some special words for you.  For the past couple of years my life has been on such an even level that at times I have to pinch myself.  I too have had periods in my life where I didn't know how I was going to get through another day. But faith, family and friends have kept me going forward, sometimes one minuet at a time so that I could get through one crisis to challange another.  Stay tight with others and keep the faith.  Sometimes finding the blessings in adversity are the toughest challanges. but produce the greatest rewards.  God bless.

Thanks to all for your prayers. The hospital was able to expedite my surgery, a biopsy/lumpectomy for first thing Monday the 11th.  I have been very down about it because even after that it's another week before they know if it's cancer or just precancer and I may need yet another surgery and radiation. If not cancer I'll be on cancer drugs probably for years since I'm now officially at risk.  It's been very important to me to read your messages and I wish all of you the best of luck at the very positive occupation of sweepstakes.  I am still entering but will be taking a short break next week. As for the car the nice guy at marketing emails me every week to keep me updated, I should get it in two months. Husband is still looking for another job but next week he has to take care of me and the children.  Really trully this community is awesome. Love to all.

I'll be praying for you, sweetjuju.  My mom was 32 when she got *** cancer and had 4 small children.  She lived until she was 76.  Had a radical mastectomy, because that's what they did back then, no chemo and no radiation.  But I do remember hearing her cry in the night.  My heart goes out to you.
