(The power of a) Personal "Wish" List

I want to share some thoughts & beliefs...

We have all heard of comments and adages like....."Do you see the glass half full or half empty?"

I really believe in the power of "Imagery," (both positive & negative.)  Simply put, I believe "you get what you give." In other words, if you focus on negatives or constantly think that you are not getting what you deserve out of life--or from the world, you won't. Another favorite adage is: "If you continue to do what you've always done, you'll continue to get what you've always gotten."

Positive psychological thoughts, responses and attitudes in your behavior--and how you treat others, has a dramatic affect on the direction and outcome of your life. It is important to be realistic with goals. But (I believe) if you really focus on positives in all areas of your life, you will succeed in most of your plans. It is also important to take a sincere interest in others. This has worked very well for me in my life and a quite a few other people I know.

For a number of reasons, I believe it is very important to write down your goals and make "A wish List" not only for wants on sweepstakes wins, but in other areas of your life. You'll be amazed at how well it works!

If you don't know where to begin, research "positive thinking" and train yourself by reading books and periodicals with articles on positive, personal improvement. It won't happen overnight. But eventually you'll start feeling better about yourself, your life will become more enjoyable and you'll notice that others are treating you much better.

(Obviously things will happen to us that we have no control over. But we do have control over how we choose to respond and react to them.)

...Just some personal thoughts. Wishing each of you continued luck & success with your life & sweep wins!!!

Very insightful Steve.  Before my retirement I did have a course on the effects of positive thinking and was very helpful.  It's so easy to get down (particularly when sweeping).  But one thing I do every day (well almost every day) is when I get up in the mornings, I go to the bathroom, wash my face, look in the mirror, and make myself smile the biggest smile...even when I don't feel worth a darn.  It sets my day.  Sometimes when I do this I look at my hair, and depending on how I slept that night, I might look ridiculous and the big smile becomes a belly laugh.  THEN for the rest of the day, I try to continue "practicing" my smile.  You've got to try it...It's very contagious.  Oh yes, and the part about writing down your "wish list for sweepstakes wins?"  Well that list is etched in my brain:  MONEY/CAR/TRUCK/TRIP.  Thanks for the insight and GLTY too.

Steve, thanks for sharing your upbeat outlook.  I too am a firm believer in living positive and good things follow.  I hope many others read this thread and take it to heart.  The world would be a better place if we could all turn our frowns upside down.
