    Any input to this question?

I have a question.  For the past three days I had been trying to enter a sweepstakes where you filled in your information and then answered some questions, e.g., how often do you watch this show? etc.  I was truthful and said I watched it occasionally.  When I tried to submit the entry, it said the server was down.  Someone in the post suggested to fill out the form again and say I watch this every chance I get.  I did, and this time when I clicked submit, it took the entry.  Does this mean that the sponsors want you to lie about your activities and only those faithful are going to be winning the prizes?  I had wondered about this since joining this site and entering the sweepstakes.  Are your chances diminished if you click the box saying you don't want to take a survey, you don't want additional information, you don't want a subscription to whatever, or any other box which suggests you are a mediocre subscriber to their product?    I'm hoping the answer is "no" but after this experience I'm beginning to wonder.  Does anyone have any input?

Jeannie:  In my experience, sponsors do not want you to lie nor are you required to take a survey (unless so noted), request additional info., buy anything or subscribe.  Most likely the site was busy or undergoing maintenance updates.

And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more. - Dr. Seuss

HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY! And you should be truthful, but your answers have absolutely no effect on your winning, also many survey type questions are optional (most indicate optional, but if not, try submitting without answering). They would not put "opt" boxes if it were not possible to opt out. And it may even be the law, notice how many say no purchase is necessary and give you an altenate method of entry. Usually if a sweeps or website is down, it is truly broken or has inadequate capacity for the traffic volume (and sometimes their box becomes overstuffed with entries and needs to be emptied, this happens most often at the end of a week-end).
