    To Instant win or not?

Some instant wins are just not worth the time. With all the time spent on the everyday sweep it seems that instant wins unless they have a grandprize just for the entry aren't worth all the time. I spend about 2 hours per day entering and about 1 hour searching for new sweeps per day. Yes I have won movie tickets,a book about Peter Pan and a coupon for car care product with instant wins. Some of the new instants are just plan dumb and seem like a waste of time. And if you can't use robo on them that makes them even less in value. Just wanted to share my thoughts? Anyone else feel this way too!

    Sue from NJ aka montycat123

P.S. Thank You Mr Sweepy for all the new sweeps and this very lovely site with wonderful folks to share things with!Wink

Re: To Instant win or not?

I look at the instant win sweeps as a fun way to break up what can be an otherwise
monotonous time entering the regular sweeps.  I agree, not all are worth playing for me, personally....for instance, I don't have young children so I skip over those offering prizes geared towards young children, but I do enjoy winning small prizes.  Part of it is just the "thrill" of the win, but the prizes themselves often come in handy and are useful.  However; if pressed for time, or if the game itself turned out to be really time-consuming,  I wouldn't hesitate to skip over them.  Otherwise, I just look at it as a way to have a little fun.

    Good luck, Sue!

Well, my only wins thus far have come from instant wins.  And-- it's true-- they're mostly junky wins-- glorified coupons, you might say.  But I have gotten a few decent ones between $20 and $50.  I feel like my odds are better with the instant wins, and so those are the first I do each day.  It takes me about 45 minutes.  If I have time later in the day, I get to my dailies (which I almost always do).

But really, instants are mostly about the thrill of winning.  For example, this morning I won an instant from Propel-- a 2 week trial gym membership.  I'll never use it.  And in fact, you could probably walk into any gym right now and ask for a 2 week trial and they'll give it to you.  But, it was still nice to have won.

On the other hand, if you go through a streak of 30-40 "SORRY!"s everyday, that can get tiresome, especially if you're only playing for chump-change.  I play them all anyway-- because you never know when you'll hit something big. And all it takes is one lucky try.

I have mixed feelings about the instants.  I love the instant gratification that winning one brings, but have pared some off my list if they take too long play and the prizes don't wow me.  I have, however, had some great success with them.  I have won a video iPod and a $50.00 Red Envelope gift code as bigger wins, and smaller or more obscure wins of coupons, music downloads and even today, a Sasquatch bobblehead.  So if I have time I play them.  But know that my best odds are on the one time only drawings and then on the daily drawings.  I pretty much do the instants for a laugh.

I have to say that I look forward to the IW's each day.  I have never won a daily, weekly, one time etc etc.  So these serve as an incentive to keep on sweeping for that big win.  I enjoy most of the games , but there are times that I just click the can't see game icon, so that I can get through them quickly, yet I still have a chance to win.  I  have never won anything over $25.00, but I get tickled each time I see that Congratulation sign.  There are times that I view some of the game as too time consuming or not my cup of tea so  I don't add them to my  Lucky  List.  I hope this has helped you some.  And I sincerely hope that you will receive that big win someday soon.

Don't get discouraged guys. I have only been sweeping since August and I have won several instants. I generally am not a very lucky person, but the instants have made me feel much less unlucky. I count me and hubbies wins together. I have won $250 spafinder GC, $100 check, $99 Bose earphones, $50 gas GC and $50 Sony Style GC in instants. Most or all of these were delivered since Feb or March. I have several more smaller prizes. This doesn't count non instants. I havn't been doing very good lately. I know I have been very fortunate to have so many wins. I read how some members have won very little or nothing and still come here to have fun and chat. I love our community. When I feel like not sweeping anymore, I come to the forum and change my mind after reading all the supportive comments to each other. Sometimes when I lose the instant, I tell myself that it doesn't matter because I really wanted the bigger prize in that sweep.

Your all winners to me!!     :))

i completely understand why you dont like the IW catergory. to be honest, i think ive won maybe once in the 8 months ive been here on an instant. i really dread them and do them last, but the reral reason i keep coming back to the IWs is because those ones always bring out the funniest conversations in the comments sections! i do the sweep just so we have something to talk about. a mutual hatred of whatever evil that sweep seems to bring out in us. the crazy scenarios they put you in and the sometimes fun games they come up with. seriously, i think thats the whole reason i do them anymore. it just gets me a laugh for the day reading what people say about that sweep. i hope you can get your win someday soon. good luck!

I too play the IW games for the fun of it...I only just joined this site on the 7th of April and have just won 3 music downloads in the Platex game...I was so excited LOL...on my dialup connection some of them take quite a while to load but i do still enjoy playing them nonetheless...I really love this site and the people here seem like alot of fun and very nice.

    Thanks Tina

I don't like IW games. Playing the same boring game day after day is not my cup of tea. After you play the game the first time, I'll bet if there was a button to click it off the next time you entered most people would. I go crazy with the sweep, Hyatt Place, and have never reached the end. Who can do the sweep, My Post-it Secret, day after day and think that that is fun? But, we all want the car so, we do it. I wish there was a way to make these games enjoyable.....dylene

I love IW in fact I'm very close to $2000.00 in prizes and my two biggest wins on IW..Miller lite and Cascade...these prizes are there for the winning...the more the better for me.

    Sue:

I felt the same way about IWs until 5/3/7.  Little prizes, few wins, and a large chunk of time.  Then, I won the Dell $10,000 grand prize from one of those IWs.  Now, they are all on my lucky list.  Hope this helps. Paradise

I find the instant wins to be discouraging, no one wants it in their face over and over in big letters or however they choose to tell you that you a LOSER.
