Nice sweeps! I have been around the world with the Air Force and know a lot of beaches. (Some "beaches" had too much sand and not enough water!) The best beach in my humble opinion is located on Oahu at Bellows Air Force Station next to Waimanalo. (Remember the long white sand beach scenes on Magnum PI with no other people on the beach? Bellows.) One of the neat things about this beach is about half of it is open to the public on weekends. During the week the base is only open to authorized folks (military, dependants, etc.) and is great! If any of you are military Bellows also has beach side cabins through Outdoor Rec that can be rented (yes there is usually a short waiting list) at real cheap prices. Transportation issues? Da Bus runs right by the gate! And don't forget the Hale Koa in Waikiki. Fantastic hotel with a beautiful beach, entertainment, lounges, and resteraunts.
