Oh my goodness, thank you Mr. Sweepy and all those who have inspired me to enter contests.  I'm no pro at all these things, but I have won some great prizes, and it's all because of this site.  A recent thread discussion was about not winning anything, and the inspiration provided was so positive.

Well..... yesterday I hit a big one.  I'm so excited...  I won one of the 10 Grand prizes in the St. Ives Indulge yourself.  My prize is a years worth of pedicures and manicures, in the form of a $900 gift certificate from Spa Finder.  I received my affidavit yesterday and faxed it this morning.  I will have to pay taxes on it, as the prize is administered by e-prize - and they speak of a 1099.  I'm not sure if I can use the certificate to perhaps get my hair done... or maybe buy a gift certificate for a friend.... but if not, I may have the best toes and nails in town - for at least a year.

This year alone, I'm up to I figure around $2000 worth of stuff -- all from here.  I've won a $100 from Hebrew National, the Dinner & a Movie from Bertolli - (ARV $380), a small chip diamond necklace, a pair of Adidas from Coke, about 20 bags of chips, a coin from Disney's National Treasure ($75), a basket from Philly Cream Cheese, an Oriental Trader $75 gift certificate, a CoffeeAM $100 certificate (it's great!) from International Delight... and a salad, some bread, a KFC snacker or two, a few t-shirts... and that's about all I can think of now. 

This St. Ives win is huge for me, and I'm so thankful for this site.  I couldn't have done this without you, Mr. Sweepy.

 Wow, you have done REALLY well your fist year of sweeping.  Won't be long till you become a member of the 10000 club.  And it sounds like you have won some very useful prizes.  Really happy for your and bet you will have the best pedicures and manicures in town.  Taxes won't be too much on a $900 prize, added to your present income, maybe $200-350 income tax.  But enjoy every day you spend at the spa!!  Keep on winning and telling us your great news.  Evie-Wi

 Wouldn't it be great!  There have been times when I thought maybe I was just wasting my time too.... but then I read the thread about not winning, and I kept plugging along.  I enter about 50 a day - several times a week.  Lately I've really diligent and getting in about 100 a day, but I think the new format on site helps as well with the quick entry button.  I also think using Firefox helps me -- seems faster somehow. 

Regardless, I'm a happy camper...  and I pray others here benefit from a wonderful surprise like I did too.

Mostang, is Spa Finder a particular place, or do you go to any spa?  I really don't know and haven't entered any of these sweeps because of it.  Thanks. 

I got a call Monday that i had won Style Networks Spoil Me Summer's prize of the day.  It was a $250 spafinder gift certificate.  She said that I could go online to Spafinder.com, put in my zip code, and find the spas in my area that would accept the certificate.  Most of the spas in my area didnt, but there were two about 20 minutes away that did.  I called and found out that the certificate is just like cash.  I could use it to purchase any of their products or services: hair styling, facials, massage, manicures, pedicures, etc.  They even said i could use it to pay for something my daughter wanted done.  I didnt ask if i could use it on several different visits.  I bet yours comes in several certificates because it is such a large amount.

Congrats on your wins!  Spa finder gift cards are great, and you can use them not only for salon services, you can purchase professional salon products with them too.  Enjoy your trip to the spa!

Oh thank you so much.  I'm convinced this is my most profitable "hobby" ever.  I was telling a friend about my win... and she's joined us.  She won a song download on her 4th contest last night and you'd have thought she won the lotto!  It was so cute. 

Crossing my fingers so she wins too.... 

There are actually 3 spas within 5 miles of me that accept the gift certificates.  Ironically my friend used to work at the one I'll be going to.  I may buy her a certificate with some of my winnings --
