Why don't you open the active topics list, and then if you want to read/comment on a post, right click it, then click open in new tab, read/comment on it and then close that tab. It would leave you back at the page you were at before, and you could open several windows at once and comment on one thing while another page is loading. That's what I do.....
I do it that way when I sweep too, saves LOADS of time......try it if you haven't already,

Great place to visit if you get a break from sweeping or need some awesome information!
