What is with all the Trips?

Hey, there seem to be too many trip (vacation) prizes for me.  I want CASH or Vehicles.  I guess with the price of gas, they think everyone needs a free travel.

Agree cash would be great.  Vehicle would be even better.  Will settle for a trip if gasoline and/or travel is included.

Express your own ideas, thoughts, and opinions; be prepared to defend your actions or inactions; and watch the results.

Have you tried writing to your congressman?

My complaint is with the number of foreign trips, Let's support the USA, and the national economy. How about some trips to middle America, National Parks, Branson, MO, Missippi River Steamboat trips.  Give NYC and the West Coast (Sorry, Marli) a rest.

I still think writing Congress is a good idea. RIGHT NOW, the U.S. Congress is investigating who said what concerning Valerie Plame's identity five years ago, major league baseball players using steroids, and the New England Patriots possibly videotaping opposing football team's practices.

Surly Congress can squeeze in time to address our sweepstakes concerns.

trips are cheaper for sponsors to give away...you know they get great deals on them...especially because average people are not going to be able to travel like they used to...travel companies need the business.

I agree, write your congresspeople and senate, that's what I did, they need to hear it from ALL of US!  they need to get off their seats and start working for US to solve the energy issues, quit making excuses!

The Senate isn't separate from Congress, it's 1/2 of Congress. The other half is the House of Representatives.

Why?  They are all worthless.  Where can you get a job with benefits, not work for long, long periods of time and still get paid?  And run for another job.  And not do anything to help the situation when you are working!

I don't even PRETEND to understand voters.... right now the approval rating for Congress is about 13 percent. And yet, this November, 95 percent of them will get re-elected. Go figure. Ted Kennedy could be in a coma on life support, and he would still win.

In fact, during the 2000 elections, voters in Missouri actually elected a guy for governor who'd been dead and buried for TWO MONTHS!!!

I could get into a really long conversation about that but this isn't the place.  It's just totally amazing how unintelligent half this country is.  Guess it's the drugs.  Our whole election process is a big joke.

Perhaps the sponsors are offering trips with the hopes of attracting consumers that have disposible income to spend on their product and are not offering a cash alternative that may attract those looking for a quick way to pay off debt.

I love cash like everyone else, and it seems widely known that the cash prize sweeps get more entries, but perhaps these trip sweeps are looking to generate an increase in product sales and not just huge numbers of entries.

As far as congress is concerned, if there was a way to take away their over the top health care benefits and make them cope with what real Americans are dealing with, the insurance crisis in this country would definitely get some desperately needed attention that may actually have realistic results.  That is a topic worthy of a letter to Washington.

Am emailing from Ireland at that moment as I  am using a Travel and Leisusre first prize win.  We are having a  fabulous time.

I appreciate the variety of  sweeps offered as this website is like one gigantic smorgasbord of  choices.  I love all the  trips sweeps -  both international and within the USA.  I think it  is wonderful that Mr. Sweepy can find such a variety of prizes to  choose from.

I am sure the trip prizes have something to do with promoting tourism in the  various regions and realizing that even with a "free trip" people will still be supporing the local economy as we did yesterday at the Waterford Factory.

I just skip the  prizes I am not interested in and enter the ones I know I could pay taxes on, enjoy, and utilize.

I, for one, hope the trip sweeps keep appearing but also lots of others for  those of you who are hoping for other wins.

Re: What is with all the Trips?

Obviously cash and cars are great.  I would be really excited to win either.  But I know that a lot of sponsors aren't willing to give away a $20,000+ vehicle, so trips are a much cheaper alternative for them to still have a sweepstakes with a prize that most people would want.  Personally, I love entering trip prizes.  I've won a trip to Las Vegas and a trip to the Galapagos Islands, both of which were really great trips.  (I am still in the process of going through my Galapagos pictures to post online.)  I love traveling, but usually can't afford to do anything more than drive a couple states over and spend a few days in a Motel 6.  So if I am given the opportunity to win a free trip to somewhere I've never been before, I'll totally take it!  Right now I know there are some great trip sweepstakes going on, and I'm happy to enter them every day.

Just returned at 1:00 am from using a sweepstakes win to Ireland which was fabulous but we did spend a fair amount out of pocket "boosting the local econonmy."  But what a wonderful win to the Galapagos!  I have been faithfully entering the current one (CHlorox, I think) with a grand prize of the Galapagos so maybe we can swap trip notes some day!!!!

I appreciate all the trip sweeps and will keep entering ever mindful they do end up costing you some money of your own.
