Oneita: Saw your post about tool sweeps won by men and I wanted to post this:
October 2007, I won Ridgid Power Tools $2,899. This was not a hammer and screwdriver assortment. It was heavy-duty power tools. They arrived on two different pallets. I have been very fortunate in winning many small and medium sweeps. I have been extra fortunate in winning several very large sweeps.
I have not won anything yet from DIY, but I keep entering and hoping.
I do enter some of the motorcyle sweeps. Not sure if I would actually begin riding a motorcyle again, but it sure would be fun to win one especially with the cost of gasoline.
I enter for lawnmowers and a variety of items that used to be thought of as for men. Figure I can use, give away, or sell.
Again, I am not disclosing age except to say I am over 50 and enjoy every minute of sweeping.
How you look at a situation is very important, for how you think about a problem may defeat you before you ever do anything about it. When you get discouraged or depressed, try changing your attitude from negative to positive and see how life can change for you. Remember, your attitude toward a situation can help you to change it -- you create the very atmosphere for defeat or victory.”
