    Mr. Sweepy

Cadillac stopped production of the high perforamce CTS-V at end of 2007. They now have the CTS but some MSRP's get close to $50K. I have asked for something close to the $52K or pay the taxes which would almost be a wash.

Thanks to all for the replies, support and understanding

The lateness update on Cadillac process; I received phone call from Promotion Company to talk about schedule a presentation of prize.

I told I had a rule question because in the rules it states “Sponsor reserved the right to substitute a prize (or portion thereof) of comparable or greater valve, at its so discretion.”

The Promo was trying to tell me that this 2008 CTS with and MSRP would be of equal as a 2007 CTS-V. I had to tell they were not an it was about $9,000 less in prize.

In my estimation a 2008 CTS with a MSRP of $ 43,460 would cost sponsor about $37,810 out the door.

They do not make any of the CTS-V anymore but I have the following information from Southeastern Edition of N,A.D.A. December 2007

    Loan valve on a 2007 CTS-V is $44,100

    Clean Retail I on a 2007 CTS-V is $55,100

FYI on a standard 2007 CTS clean retail is $ 28,275

Hopefully this will give you a better picture of why I claim I am leaving money on the table. I would be happy with an ESCALADE that SUV is close to a cost/retail prize of a new 2007 CTS-V

I am waiting for more news on this process of the best deal for me.

Received a follow-up phone call from PROMO. They have a 2008 STS with a MSRP of $55,655. My comments now are let’s schedule presentation, I hope it will be in 2008 but at this point I need to follow PROMOTERS schedule

That's excellent news! SO happy you are moving in the right direction $$$. When I won my car I had no hassles at all and dealt directly with Valvoline who was the sponsor - they even paid the sales tax on the car! It had a value of about 42K and I sold it to a dealership for $33.5K, so the higher value the more you'll be able to sell it for and you'll have more money to set aside taxes to pay at years end. Be happy with whatever you have leftover - it's a rush. (I assume you'll sell it, but if not enjoy!) Regardless, you'll only pay income taxes on what you sell it for. If you don't sell it you'll pay taxes on what you could reasonably sell it for which would be the "used" car price if it has been titled.  I'm excited for you!
