    Visit from Texas Instruments update

Today was quite a day. The day started with an assembly at my school where they awarded us with quite a package of graphing calculators, support for the teachers, online tutoring for the students and so much more. They announced that they would be sending "Math Rocks" for all 325 students.

Next they interviewed our junior high math teacher, principal and tech specialist.  When they heard what our needs entailed, they just kept increasing the support and packages. I became overwhelmed and burst into tears. They were so nice. They then took pictures.

They asked the question......Where did you hear about the sweepstake?  I smiled and said,"Sweepstakes Today."  I almost said MR. SWEEPY!"

    Thanks again.

That was such a touching story!  I want to also say "hats off " to Texas Instruments for helping to improve the educational needs of so many students...they sound like a very generous and caring company.  Thanks for posting

Friday really was quite a day for you, Stephenie! One you won't soon forget. I can only imagine how much your school must appreciate the gift from TI, thanks to you. It sounds like you must work at your school - are you a teacher perchance? Did you get any feedback from those at school about some of them joining ST and becoming sweepers? After what they saw on Friday, I imagine there must be some interest! Congrats again on your (and the school's) good luck - GSTY! Big Smile

Yes, I am at teacher  at the school...Special ed.  The promoter and sponsor were so excited that I won.

Many faculty members are quite interested  in our site. Many remain quite skeptical.  In the spring, I had shared the site and hints but none pursued it.

Thank you for your kind response.

That's Awesome!  The schools are really in need now with budget cuts, etc.  It is so wonderful of TI company to increase their packages.  Isn't it funny how skeptical people can be?  I know my friends are too, even when they see or share in my wins.  You must be floating on air about all of this.  Congratulations!!
