    autofill, your views?

When I started in July I was winning alot for a newbee. Then my husband (a huge supporter) got me a new laptop with windows 7 on it last month in October. It has autofill on it and I was able to speed threw my entries by double clicking, point, choose, tab to the next field. I haven't won anything since then. I post how many entries I make each month in my signature,  It doesn't include all the ones I'm doing in post months well into the end of next year. Although my gutt is telling me that this is hurting my chances I cannot pull away from the conveniance of it and go back to typing ( especially when the options pop down as I begin to fill in each tab). Its not an installed program like Roboform so... I don't know.  What do you think about that? about autofill?  Do you auto or type?

Just the normal distribution of the frequency of wins/losses IMNSHO. Everyone has dry spells, the computers that pick from among the entries have no idea if the forms were manually typed. Autofill or similar are indispensible for a high rate of entry.

4myfamily:  autofill is acceptable and does not hurt your winning chances.  There have been lengthy discussions regarding using autofill.  You might want to go to upper right hand corner, type in "autofill" and read thru those discussions.

Concur across the board.  I have both on my system and favor Robo.  But I do have a handful that autofill handles better (on some I use both to fill all fields because neither does 100%).  But I only type out of necessity.

    Re: autofill, your views?

Rationally, I think Robo and autofill are fine, but I nevertheless hand-type lots of sweeps.  I hand-type for the cars, for example.  I type quickly so it's not a huge hardship.  I do notice the newbies posting wins right off the bat and I do wonder if it is because they are still handtyping at that point.....  It just happens so often, I certainly have noticed it as an apparent pattern.

The number of seconds a person takes in entering a sweeps can be measured (although I think it may still be rare for administrators to do that), so Robo and autofill can be deduced that way.  halogen advised opening several at once to Robo fill so they would stay open a bit longer before being submitted.

Also, I think it may give an edge to enter at the end of a sweeps period.  Newbies are catching up on a lot of sweeps that are out there, so they are coming in at various times instead of always at the beginning.  Maybe that is part of the phenomenon.

I dunno.  I think handtyping puts me in a real minority. And I think the others win more often, as a matter of fact.
