A FedEx man came to the door this morning with an envelope from the Accounts Payable Dept. at Scripps Networks. There was no need for a signature--he just handed it to me & wished me a nice day. (Little did he realize how nice-a-day it was turning out to be...!!!)

I ripped it open to find a check for:   $75,000.00---the HGTV Grand Prize money!!!!!!!!

I can hardly believe it arrived so soon!  But I'm soooo happy it did! This has all happened so quickly--it seems surreal and feels almost anticlimactic. But I am holding the check in my hand!~~  It will really "hit home" when it clears through my bank. I made copies of the check--for records & am still staring at it as I type this post...Well, after my "daze" wears off, I'm off to the bank & to set up an appointment with my CPA.

(I guess it will seem more realistic when the check clears my bank & of course when I begin to deal with the taxes.)

 Way to go! Congratulations to you. You really didnt have to sign? When I got the $10,000 the UPS man said they needed a signature from someone over 21! I ripped it open to show him what joy he had brought to my life. He couldnt believe he was the bearer of such good news.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share and for making it so "real" for us.  Hey... since you made copies of the check you could frame one of them and put it by your computer, or maybe put it into your sweeping scrapbook if you have one.   Now you can be member #1 of the $75,000.00 Club. he he.    Congratulations again and you have lots of fun making good use of all that money!

 That must be an awesome feeling to have that check in your hand.  I would like to be a mouse in the corner when you take that to the bank and they start looking to see if it is a scam  LOL!  The pic of the check might make a nice new avatar here!!  Again, congratulations!

How great of you to share "the rest of the story".... It is just super wonderful..  If only FedEx knew what he was delivering to you... I bet you willl be driving very carefully getting to the bank and putting that $$ to good use.  Enjoy the feeling, and don't be surprised when the CPA gives you the news re TAXES...  Don't you just LOVE FedEx, not to mention Scripps Networks, of course.   Best wishes and keep that smile on your face all the time.  Evie

Steve, the "daze" will wear off, but the big smile never will whenever or whereever the subject of winning the prize comes up. You will find that the "winning sweepers smile" is a second prize you won and last a life time.
