    Is Pay-Pal dangerous??

There is a sweeps that pays out in money(anywhere frome 50 cents up to I don't know how many dollars), but they say they only pay it out thru Paypal. I remember about a year ago, I was going to sign up for it and two different people told me not to. One said he read a warning about it in one of his computer books(he's very into computers, scams, etc.) and someone else said stay away from it also. Is anybody here with it, and how does it work?? The fact that it was written so negatively in a book scared me out of it. I'll try and find out which book it was, and see what it says exactly. Thanks, SandySue.

I've been a seller on Ebay for many years and I've used Paypal for literally thousands of transactions and never had a problem.  You can rest assured that Paypal is safe, easy and free. Smile I can offer you a good piece of advice though:  NEVER click on a link sent to you in an email asking you to "update" your account info.  This includes any emails from Banks, Paypal, etc.... these are scam artists trying to trick you into thinking the email is from your financial institution to get your personal info.

If you can DREAM it, you can DO it.

I have used Paypal thru eBay to sell completed cross stitch projects for years with no problems.  As cmalchiodi1 noted" just be careful with scam emails."

    Re: Is Pay-Pal dangerous??

I've also been using Paypal for years.  I've heard recently that that's the only way Ebay bidders can pay for their auction wins now - because Ebay bought Paypal.  Ebay transactions with Paypal number in the billions by now.  Hopefully, they have the highest security anyone can have.  Other online retailers are even starting to accept payment thru Paypal now because it's so popular.  Personally, I like the idea of having my credit card/bank account information in one place instead of giving my information to several different online establishments.  Retailers like T.J. Maxx have had their computer systems hacked into and compromised thousands of customers' banking information.  Like someone else mentioned,  you do have to watch your emails. Hackers  have sent me emails regarding my account or an item I may have bid on recently, and if you click on the link to take you to Ebay or Paypal it will take you to a page that just looks like Ebay or Paypal.  If you log in on a fake website, then they've got your name, password and all your information.   If you do get an email and click on a link for either one, make sure that the internet address line shows Ebay or Paypal.  When in doubt, always go to the websites directly yourself and log in.  Good luck!
