    a win from Vacation Execs

Has anyone ever won a trip from Vacation Execs aka alcoastalvacations.com? I did enter several times, and they say I've won 2nd prize, trip but no airfare.

Never won a trip, period.  I'd say that if they aren't asking for any $$, go for it.  If it is too far to travel and expense is too high, you can post it in the forums to try to sell it (It is a specific board in the Forums)  And there is always ebay.  GLTY and congrats.

Re: a win from Vacation Execs

The first time I won from them was in May and then I just won again in August.  I ended up paying $15 Paypal for them to send me my trip package info and a few other offers.  When I received everything in the mail, I think they wanted another $20 on a credit card.  Of course then I figured the whole thing was a total scam so I figured I would just cut my losses at $15 and forget about it.  I still have the info they sent me.

When they sent me the next email saying I won in August, I decided to send them one back, telling them how much of scammers they were and that I would warn anyone else I knew not to enter or pay any money to them.  They promptly sent a message back telling me that I should have read their contest rules more closely.  It actually does have in their rules that they have a charge to send the package.  They also went on to explain that they do not scam anyone and that many of their winners have been very happy with them, but if I wanted to return the paperwork I could do so and get a refund.

I have a year to take the trip if I want and pay the extra money they wanted on a card.  I just don't know if I want to take the chance or not.  Hope this helps you anyways.

Not for me.  No other agency that I've seen in any of the sweeps here (or in the newsletters back in the mail-in days) ever charged anything for the win.  No processing fees.  No handling/shipping/misc fee. etc.

You are absolutely right!  It is a promo not a sweepstakes!  I went ahead and confirmed my "win", and it cost me $22.48 for the shipping of the documents.  Then inside the package are vouchers to redeem for the room and the $500 in goodies. Each one requires $10  to redeem. Plus you pay room taxes somewhere between $9. and $15. per night.  But, I suppose paying $82.48 for 3 days and 2 nights in a 4 star hotel, plus $500. per person in chips, tokens, meals, and a show isn't a bad deal, but it's not a sweepstakes win, in my opinion.

Thanks for the heads-up, taylormade1. It may turn out to be a good deal, but like you found out - it's not a sweep. Personally, I don't go for the "pay to play" come-ons - there are too many free sweeps to enter! I'll wait to take a trip on their dime, not mine! GSTY!

May be a good deal for some, but for me:  I do not pay for the right to be a winner.

Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

I still smell a rat. I wouldn't spend any of my money on this! And I'm sure Mr. Sweepy won't like this company posting on our forums!
