It is hard to believe someone could win 60k every year even if they do it as a full time job, but you never know. I also seen a TV special about people sweeping full time, their lifestyle, winnings and how it effects their families. It was a good show for sure.

I'm a total newb to sweeping but being able to live off of winnings would be pretty cool, better than working a 9-5 job you don't really like anyways.

If a person takes the time to read the rules (which is the smart thing to do ), how can you enter a thousand entries a day?

Not even close to the truth! I know a number of people who claim to win consistently at many forms of gambling such as slots and the lottery. In reality they are trying to justify to everyone their compulsive gambling. One co-worker constantly bragged of her big wins. Then we found out that she was actually several months behind in mortgage payments and had been banned from several casinos. She filed for bankruptcy and her husband left her. Claiming that sweeping is her mother-in-law's full time job sounds like an excuse for being unemployed. Classify this as another URBAN LEGEND. Ask for proof!!

I find it hard to beleive as well.   I have been sweeping about 4 years (about 6 months each year).  I enter between 30 and 150 a day and have never won anything.  Not one penny.  It is still fun, but I must really have bad luck.

Steve, your luck or lack thereof isn't the problem. The clue is that you only sweep for half of a year, and then enter only 30 - 150 sweeps when you do. If you read the forums you'd see that sweeping success comes from entering a greater number of sweeps, and entering consistently! If you change your MO, success should follow. Of course, that may take the fun out of it for you. Just saying... GSTY in the new year!

If I entered sweeps for a living, I would starve to death.

A few years back Oprah had a show on sweepstakes winners and there was this one lady who claimed she did it for a living.  She won as much as 1 million dollars and sweeping was all she did.  Oprah questioned  how she did this every years and she never had a clear answer.  I will see if I can find the clip and post the link.

You know there are some that have more "luck" than others but still.... think about it.  The Arby's sweeps should have told you how many people enter every day and now with so many out of work etc. the odds are even less.  I don't believe any of these claims of earning a living for one minute.  This is a nice little hobby that doesn't cost you anything but your time, and you can spend a lot of time doing it.  I like the challenge and the "dream" of winning something I couldn't afford otherwise but I know there are at least 30,000 other people entering every day like me.  I would challenge anyone to show me their 1099's to prove you can make a living doing this.

I find this extremely hard to believe. The odds of her being able to pull in 50-60K every year are quite slim. But....it is possible I guess.
