Just like EPrize to jip me out of a prize

I won a Bag of candy on the Mars Hunt for yellow sweep that just recently ended.  The winning screen said a confirmation email would be on its way.  I saw my confirmation number in the lower right side of the screen and decided to make a print of the page.  The print for some reason came out slightly different than what I saw on my computer screen - though the message that I won was there.  My confirming email never came.  Then I decided to write to eprize a few days ago about my win.  I pulled out my winning screen print and looked for the confirmation number and wouldn't you know, that is one of the things that was different about the print - it was not there and I had not written it down.  I got a response from eprize today and in short this is what they said:  "We have checked our records and do not have your email address listed as a confirmed winner.  As detailed in the Official Rules, all winning plays are emailed as the page starts to load, regardless of what appears on your screen.  If you had been a winner, an email would have been sent to the email address you used to register"  So, in other words if you ever win from them and do not get a confirming email, than you can forget about your prize!!  At least I managed 4 single candy bars from them before this sweep ended.

    D. L. Blair, Inc did the sweep promotion for Hunt for Yellow, and I received my coupon for the candy.

Hi Snf, Instead of phyically printing a hard copy, you can do a screen print with CTL & Print Sct. I have never heard of how a printing a full screen could be changed at the computer level on your own computer before.  This is because the winning message was actually downloaded onto your computer then you printer would print this.  This is what has me confusted.  By doing a CTL & Print Sct this would copy the exact same screen you see to your Clipboard.  Then you can paste this into a Word or Wordpad file.

I attached a same picture of this for you in a Word File.

By doing it this way, there is no funny business between what you see and what might print out.

Mars prize administrator is DL Blair.  That is probably why eprize had no record of you winning.  It is kind of funny that they respond to you that way instead of stating in the email that they are not the administrator of that sweep and are therefore not able to assist you.

Besides control(CTRL), what do you press?  I don't understand which button allows you to copy the screen?

The Print Scr key is the next one to the right of F12 and above Insert on a standard keyboard.

Re: Just like EPrize to jip me out of a prize

I have had nothing but good experiences with DLBLAIR..I won a prize from dawn several years back..600.00 took about six months to get it but they were very nice and responded to my calls.  I have noticed more and more people somewhat impatient to receive their prizes...its a hurry up and wait kind of thing.  When I win a prize..I print the screen as Mr Sweepy said to do..I print the rules..print anything I can that has to do with that prize.  There have been a couple of sweeps when people thought for sure I mean for sure they won..they really didn't win. .  These sweeps are not out to cheat us..I feel we need to have confidence in the sponsor and administrators...if we don't trust them what is the point of sweeping anyway?...just my thoughts.

So, I have the print screen button on my standard desktop keyboard at school, but it isn't on my laptop. Now I get it.

I must apologize.  I sent my email off to eprize by mistake and they did respond like I said.  Since I had won single candy bars from them in the past and still had those confirming emails I referred to one of them for the administrator.  I must have looked at the wrong email that I had from another sweep and that must have been where I got the name of eprize.

I had heard of screen saving before but had no clue how to do it.  Thanks, Mr. Sweepy, I will try that next time.  The difference between the screen and my print was that at the top of the page it welcomed me by name followed by several lines of blue dots.  Then above my winning message it said "Logoff/profile".  Under the winning message there were tumbnail sized pictures of the different candy brands running down the rest of the page.

This story does have a happy ending though.  Today in the mail I got my coupon for the questionable bag of candy!!  I'm a happy camper now.

freichick, check for a sub function on your insert key.  That is where my print screen key is located.
