Cassandra was an Associated Press writer/reporter, and a sweeper. She had a few decent wins under her belt, and was a driving force to organize a sweepstakes club in northern Virgina.
During a tragic and dark period in my life in the last 1990s, she selflessly gave of herself to help me through it. Everyone who knew Cassandra knew she was a gentle and loving soul.
When she was 50 years old she died of b-reast cancer, November of 2003. We knew she was ill, but she never let on how serious it really was. Her death came as a complete surprize.
Many of Cassandra's stories can be found on the web.
